John Katkish President and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Katkish founded First Management Group in 1982 to provide comprehensive real estate and investment services to institutional and individual clients around the nation. Mr. Katkish has 30 years of experience in investment financing, asset management and development in the real estate industry. As President and Chief Executive Officer, he directs FMG's national strategic planning and guides its mission to become a premier global private equity development firm. Before founding FMG, Mr. Katkish was a Vice President of a leading hospital development firm where he directed the firm's real estate activities. Mr. Katkish earned a Master of Business Administration degree from New York University's Stern Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Maryland. In addition to his role at FMG, Mr. Katkish is a full-time Professor of Real Estate and Finance at American University's Kogod School of Business. He was recently nominated to teach a special session at the University of Hawaii Graduate Business Scholars Program. Mr. Katkish is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and he serves as a founding board member of the Great Park Conservancy, which is focused on the redevelopment of the El Toro Marine Base in Orange County, California. Brian Friedman Vice President & Managing Director of Investments Mr. Friedman directs asset management, acquisition and disposition, development and repositioning, capital formation, due diligence, and new business opportunities for FMG. Mr. Friedman's experience combines over ten years of expertise in residential, development, debt and equity finance, Brownfield redevelopment, environmental restoration and mixed-use urban infill development. Prior to joining FMG, Mr. Friedman was owner and president of Westover Capital, a Washington DC based condominium developer. Concurrently, Mr. Friedman served as the Director of Development for KPMG managing Risk Assessment, Corporate Recovery and Merger & Acquisition activities. Mr. Friedman has worked closely with preservation groups and community organizations to address and successfully resolve matters relating to development, planning, zoning, historic preservation and construction issues (traffic, noise, pedestrian safety, etc.). Mr. Friedman is a member of the Urban Land Institute and a frequent guest lecturer for graduate and undergraduate Real Estate and Finance classes at American University, George Washington University and Georgetown University. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Real Estate and Finance from American University and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance, BSA Accounting from American University. Kapil Shiohare Portfolio Manager & Investment Analyst Mr. Kapil Shiohare supervises FMG Investment Division. He is responsible for developing and implementing investment policies and strategies for clients. Mr. Shiohare is highly experienced in securities research, selection and portfolio construction. He also overlooks the day-to-day activities in the accounts. Prior to heading the investment division at FMG, Mr. Shiohare worked as an Equity Analyst for FMG and as a Business Analyst for Indochain.com where he was responsible for providing market research and financial analysis directly to the CTO & CEO. Mr. Shiohare is a member of the Washington Society of Investment Analysts and is a frequent guest lecturer to undergraduate and MBA students at American University. He earned a Master of Business Administration in Finance from American University. He also holds a Master of Commerce (MCom) degree from Nagpur University, India in addition to a Diploma in Business Administration from Bhavan's, India. Mr. Shiohare has attained the NASAA Series 65 License and is registered as an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR). Mr. Shiohare is also a candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program.
